Benefits of Fruits and Vegetables

Over these last few weeks I have been doing some research on the average human diet here in the United States, and let me tell you it is kind of a joke. Compared to the countries around us, the US by far has one of the worst diets in the world. This is why I want to show you the benefits of eating your recommended amount of fruit and vegetables daily. Fruit and vegetables in a healthy diet are there to give you some of your daily carbohydrates and are they main food group to give you your daily sugars. A lot of people view sugars as a bad thing to consume but that's only because you are getting them from candy, soda, and other horrible things for your health. Fruits and vegetables are natural sugars that your body breaks down much easier and are used for better energy. The recommended daily amount of fruits is 1 1/2 to 2 cups and the recommended daily amount of vegetables is 2 to 3 cups. If you begin to start eating the daily limit of both fruits and vegetables, you will begin to see a huge boost in energy and your mood!

  1. Good points Gavin. Much of the American diet is filled with processed sugars and high calorie products. Along with the points you made here most Americans lack their daily fiber intake. Fruit is a fantastic source of fiber. Digestion and gut health improve immensely with fruits/vegetables in your diet.
